Evaluation of the state and protection of environment in the Czech Republic – July 2025

In a survey conducted in July this year, the Public Opinion Research Center asked a block of questions concerning the assessment of the state of the environment to a probability panel called Our Society. We asked respondents to assess the state of the environment in general in the Czech Republic and in their place of residence, as well as their satisfaction with selected areas of the environment in their place of residence and their assessment of environmental protection by selected actors and institutions.

Almost four-fifths (79%) of respondents said they were satisfied with the state of the environment in the Czech Republic.

When asked about their satisfaction with the state of the environment in their place of residence, the proportion of satisfied responses was 6 percentage points higher, with 85% of respondents saying they were satisfied with the state of the environment in their place of residence.

Respondents are most satisfied with the quality of drinking water (89%), access to nature (88%), and the cleanliness of the surrounding environment (80%). On the other hand, respondents are least satisfied with the density of road traffic (44%).
