Popularity of Czech top politicians - January 2026

In the first survey of 2026, the Public Opinion Research Center of the Institute of Sociology of the Czech Academy of Sciences asked the Czech public about their trust in top Czech politicians. The list of politicians included the names of the four highest constitutional officials (the president, prime minister, president of the Senate, and president of the Chamber of Deputies), members of the government, and the presidents of parties that have a parliamentary club in the Chamber of Deputies but are not in the government or in the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies.

The highest level of trust among Czechs is enjoyed by President Petr Pavel, who is trusted by almost two-thirds (62%) of citizens. The highest percentages of trust were also achieved by Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (50%) and Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlíček (44%).

On the other hand, Filip Turek (70%), Tomio Okamura (66%), and Petr Macinka (60%) have the highest levels of distrust. At least half of Czech citizens also distrust Zdeněk Hřib, Andrej Babiš, Vít Rakušan, and Alena Schillerová.

Due to a change in the CVVM survey methodology, the results of the present survey are not directly comparable to the results of previous surveys. More information about the new methodology can be found in this press release.
